Our client is seeking a Merchandise Planner who has a solid grasp of the retail industry and has an advanced understanding of business analytics to help drive the success of the business.
- Plan and develop merchandising strategies that align with company’s objectives
- Set seasonal brand budgets within your department and work closely with buying team at each stage of the planning process
- Develop range plans for top brands to support the buying process
- Trade the department on a weekly basis looking at deliveries, performance of stock and make relevant actions
- Suggest and develop new ways of working within the current structure to improve in season trading and reporting
- Identify risks and opportunities and work with a cross functional team to develop strategies that optimise the business
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in merchandise planning, OTB management and ROI principles
- MSSI Management
- Monitor stock movement and consider markdowns, promotions, price changes, clear outs etc
- 3+ years proven experience in a retail planning role
- Advanced knowledge of Excel and the ability to use planning systems effectively
- Experience working in a fast paced, multi-channel, multi-brand environment
- Strong communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels
- Strong analytical skills
- Data driven decision making skills
- Ability to collaborate with peers to ensure consistency of information, share best practices, and develop systems knowledge
