Merchandise Planner- Kidswear

Our client is a much-loved and iconic Australian retailer on the lookout for their new Planner!
 
This is a newly created role that will be responsible for Kidswear in the UK market. Work closely with the Product team to develop and implement seasonal strategies, manage budgets, and ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct weekly trade analysis and trade summaries, as well as comprehensive Post-Season Analysis
• Manage and control category and department purchase and stock levels.
• Develop seasonal subcategory level strategies and budgets in collaboration with the Product team.
• Present seasonal strategies and budgets to senior management for approval.
• Develop, implement, and manage assortment plans.
• Coordinate with the Allocator for store grading and quantification for retail stores and online platforms at line/colour/size level.
• Prepare and present range sign-off financial analysis and reports.
• Lead planning cycle activities and ensure the department meets key planning cycle milestones.
• Develop seasonal subcategory budgets, incorporating historical data, store activity, and online budgets.
• Conduct in-season forecasting and review sales to stock performance at various levels.
• Co-facilitate weekly department line performance reviews and recommend necessary actions, including markdowns and promotions.
• Ensure alignment of budgets with brand strategies and achieve financial KPIs, including GP, sales, closing stock, aged inventory, and online availability.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Merchandise Planner within a retail environment.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in financial planning systems (TM1 preferred) and advanced Excel skills.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
