Red 5 Limited is an ASX listed international Gold mining company with a focus on the Eastern Goldfields region of Western Australia, where it has recently embarked on an acquisition and consolidation strategy.
Red 5 Limited are currently seeking a suitably qualified MedicalEmergency Services Officer to join their Safety & Training team based at Darlot Gold Mine. Reporting to the Safety & Training Coordinator, you will be responsible for emergency and medical response duties and delivery of standard clinical care as per clinical practice guidelines. This is a busy role in a small and friendly team.
This role is offered on an 14 days on 14 days off roster and is Fly in Fly out from Perth.
Key responsibilities would include:
- Maintaining all emergency equipment in a state of readiness
- Providing ongoing training to Emergency Response Team including regular practice emergency scenarios
- Ensuring Incident Management Team are fully briefed and aware of their responsibilities & duties with respect to incident management
- Monitoring and responding to emergency calls and incident reports, mobilising assistance as required and coordinating the ERT at an incident
- Provision of First Aid medical services to maintain the health of employees, contractors and visitors in the event of an incident/accident and protect against further injury and/or loss
- Maintain the first aid clinic including diagnostic equipment and medications.
- Liaise with poisons permit holder (Doctor) as required by clinical practice guidelines in the management of illness and injury.
- Assist with coordination of site entry requirements including approval of pre-employment medicals
- Coordination and facilitation of RTW for injured workers
- Participation in workplace inspections and auditing
- Drug and Alcohol Testing – completing random, incident specific and for cause
- Healthcare promotions and training duties
Key factors to your success include:
Essential
- Cert III Emergency Response & Rescue – Including BG4
- Certificate IV in Health Care (Pre-Hospital Care)
- Drug and Alcohol Testing (Nationally Accredited Training)
- Intermediate level skills in Microsoft Office applications
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role.
- National Police Check (valid within the last 12 months)
- Valid WA “C” Driver’s License
Desirable
- Cert IV OHS/Cert IV WHS – Highly regarded
- Certificate IV in Workplace Training & Assessment
- MR Drivers licence highly regarded
- Previous experience, in mineral processing environments – preferably underground gold mining.
- Familiar with the workers compensation process and return to work programmes
