Metal Fabricator

Coastal Custom Stainless are experts in metal fabrication. We are a commercial Metal Fabrication business looking for a team member in the fabrication and installation department. Servicing South East Queensland, we supply commercial hospitality establishments, hotels, schools, aged care and hospitals with customised fabrication.

Core responsibilities include:

• Review and study of technical drawings, plans and specifications to fully understand requirements and instructions.
• Manufacture products with accuracy and precision in accordance with design instructions.
• Ensure high level finishing of all projects.
• Ensure work is completed to required timeframes.
• Determine the processes and tools that will be required, correct assembly sequence and methods in the erection and installation of the products on site.
• Perform quality checks regularly.
• Ensure work is completed safely to working procedures and systems.
• Maintain a presentable appearance and well natured demeanour
• Maintain and exercise a duty of care to yourself, other workers/contractors and clientele at all times.

Essential Skills:

• Relevant Trade Certificate in fabrication/welding or suitable on the job training
• Minimum 3 years experience in sheetmetal/stainless steel fabrication
• Experienced TIG welder of sheetmetal/stainless steel with thickness from 0.9mm to 2mm.
• Polishing stainless steel to seamless finish and food grade quality
• Previous experience using a folder, brake press, guillotine, Laser / Plasma cutter experience an advantage
• Sound knowledge of hand tools
• Basic Computer skills is an advantage
• Must be physically fit and healthy – ability to perform physical tasks such as manual handling.
• Strong work ethic and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to take direction and work well as a team.
• White card or ability to obtain

We are offering competitive Above Award Rates ($36-$43 p/hr) with a guaranteed Annualised salary between $70,000 - $85,000, this will be negotiated depending on your level of skill and experience.
