The Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) is looking to fill the role of Microsoft 365 Administrator in our Security and Infrastructure Branch. This is a permanent position at the APS 6 classification level. Successful applicants can work either full-time or part-time hours. Flexible working arrangements, including a hybrid model of working from home and the office applies.
The Microsoft 365 Administrator role may include the following duties:
- configure, integrate and manage Microsoft 365 Infrastructure including Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, Endpoint Manager (Intune), Exchange Online and Hybrid Exchange
- lifecycle management for collaboration services such as Teams and SharePoint, with an understanding of how to implement information management practices
- providing technical support of Microsoft 365 desktop, web and mobile applications (level 2/3 type support)
- consulting with business and technical stakeholders to perform requirements gathering; provide advice and implement solutions using M365 services to satisfy the requirements
- developing repeatable processes through scripting and automation (PowerShell and MSGraph).
Common responsibilities across all APS 6 level roles in the Security and Infrastructure Branch include:
- ensuring the delivery of ABS business outcomes through participation in multi-disciplinary agile teams
- liaising with internal and external stakeholders (including vendors), leveraging their expertise to resolve critical issues and inform decisions
- adhering to the ABS Contract, Change Management and Financial management processes
- utilising your technical leadership experience to mentor staff and contribute to organisational capability uplift and support Executive Level staff to lead and manage the section
- preparing and maintaining appropriate documentation
- an expectation to participate in a 24 x 7 on-call roster.
What we are looking for
To be considered for a Microsoft 365 Administrator position you will need most, or all of the following skills, qualities and experience:
- demonstrated experience in deploying and managing Hybrid Exchange and Microsoft 365 Services
- certification in relevant technologies or depth of experience which denotes a degree of expertise
- experience with AvePoint Cloud Governance
- experience with interoperability between HCL Notes and Microsoft 365 (such as Quest Co-existence Manager).
