About the role

Reporting to the Practice Leader, in this position you can expect to be involved in the full cycle of very interesting and complex projects.
The ideal candidate will be genuinely interested in geotechnical data management and interpretation, including supervision of site investigations and of a variety of projects related to geotechnical engineering, including earthworks and slope stabilisation projects. You’ll also contribute to the technical analysis and preparation of interpretative technical reports.
You’ll have the opportunity to work with our geotechnical experts on a variety of projects across several sectors from infrastructure to mining and urban developments.
Our Melbourne office is an integral part of the East Coast geotechnical business. In a close-knit and growing local office, you’ll be part of the much larger east coast geotechnical team.
About you
Technical excellence is important; consulting skills are equally as important. We require all our consulting engineers to have excellent communication skills with the ability to build strong team and client relationships.
Ideally you will have:
- A tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering or Geology
- Between 3 and 6-years’ experience in geotechnical investigations including a thorough understanding of soil and rock logging and some experience in the installation of monitoring instruments
- Experience in detailed design of shallow and deep foundations, earthworks and formations, slope stability assessment
- Experience in modelling – LeapFrog 3D geological modelling would be well regarded
- A keen interest in developing your project management skills, as well as your technical and analytical skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, a passion for technical excellence, and a thirst for knowledge.
