This position is a continuing full-time classroom teaching position, commencing in Week 9 of Term 2, Monday 24th June 2024. The final weeks of Term Two provide an opportunity to become part of our staff team, participate in transition activities and make preparations for students beginning on Tuesday 23rd July 2024.
St Mark’s Lutheran School was established in 1982 by the St Mark’s Lutheran Church in Mount Barker to provide quality Christian education to our community. From small beginnings we have grown to a current enrolment of 336 students, with two classes in each year level. We are grounded in the gospel and community minded. We are seeking a passionate educator who has students front and centre, is a learner and collaborator.
The successful applicant will demonstrate the ability to maintain the standards of wellbeing, teaching and learning in our school and be able to make a positive contribution as a collaborator and member of our staff team. Quality teaching at St Mark’s aligns with the three domains of Professional knowledge, Professional practice and Professional engagement as described in the AITSL teaching standards.

Selection Criteria:
- Demonstrated ability to actively and personally engage with and support the ethos of a Lutheran School.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience of working with the Early Years Framework and how this informs the Australian Curriculum Foundation year.
- A genuine passion for working with young children and a belief in the importance of early childhood education.
- Demonstrated ability to develop quality relationships with students while maintaining a positive, focussed learning environment.
- An understanding of the diverse needs of students and demonstrated skills in meeting these needs in the context of the classroom.
- Demonstrated levels of flexibility, initiative, perseverance and resourcefulness necessary to contribute to a professional learning community which values collaboration.
- Demonstrated capacity to reflect critically upon their professional practice.
Educational and Vocational Qualifications:
The successful applicant will:
- Be currently registered by the SA Teachers Registration Board of South Australia as a teacher;
- Hold a current Basic First Aid certificate; and
- Have formal qualifications commensurate with the role requirements in providing learning and wellbeing appropriate to early years students.
