Fantastic opportunity to join this close-knit team, within a busy Queensland State Government department. As the Senior Purchasing Officer, you will:
- Manage and/or assist in the management of various statewide Standing Offer Arrangements and other key contracts.
- Establish robust relationships with suppliers and contractors, focusing on competitive pricing, contract compliance, Key Performance Indicators etc.
- Communicate and work with various stakeholders such as Regional Procurement Staff, Delivery, Program and Planning staff, Suppliers etc.
- Providing assistance, guidance, and information on sourcing solutions for various projects, future works, goods/services supply, contract terms and conditions, supplier performance etc.
- Undertake and assist with strategic, complex and/or sensitive procurement activities to deliver procurement and contract management outcomes that support client agency objectives.
- Prepare and calling of tenders for a variety of categories involving construction, maintenance, consulting and upgrade activities, including evaluation and regulatory techniques.
- Undertake operational purchasing activities including ordering goods/services and processing a range of purchase orders and field release orders.
You
The successful candidate will have excellent administration and communication skills. The ideal candidate will:
- Manage priorities, meet tight deadlines, and apply attention to detail to deliver consistent quality service with minimal supervision.
- Comprehensive understanding and knowledge of Queensland Procurement Policy and other policies and legislation relating to procurement.
- Have 2 + years' experience in a Purchasing Officer/procurement officer role.
- Proficient in Microsoft Suite and ability to learn additional IT systems quickly
- Excellent communication skills
