As the VictorianGeosciences Team Lead with Worley Consulting, you will lead our Geosciences efforts in Victoria, managing and growing our team. We’ve experienced significant growth along the East Coast of Australia over the past 12 months and we’re looking for an experienced Geotechnical Engineer to continue that growth, while maintaining an environment that cultivates the sharing of knowledge and strong mentorship. We partner with our customers on their full project journey - from conceptual studies and planning, through to decommissioning and restoration.
You will have the opportunity to put your consulting experience to good use identifying and developing prospects, executing a wide variety of projects, for an established suite of customers across the Renewables, Resources and Infrastructure sectors, both domestically and globally.

What you’ll do
We’re looking for a Geosciences Team Lead to join and lead our Victorian team.
As a Team Lead, your responsibilities will include:
- Actively promoting a culture of zero harm and safety focus within the business.
- Managing the resourcing requirements of the Victoria Geoscience Team through maintaining the team resource and revenue plan, which includes forecasting of resources and capability requirements, as well as identification, targeting and conversion of prospective opportunities.
- Identifying and facilitating development and competency requirements for team members.
- Leading your team and cultivating an environment that stimulates coaching, mentoring and career development of all members of the team to achieve technical excellence.
- Supporting the development of and enablement of the implementation of the strategy and tactics framework for the practice.
- Active and effective participation in business development initiatives (including identifying target opportunities/customers, customer engagement and leading/managing proposal preparation, compilation and delivery).
- Working and collaborating with all other parts of the business to understand future opportunities and synergies.
- Provision of technical stewardship and mentorship to fellow team members.
- Planning, compilation and/or reviewing of technical reports and maintenance of deliverables to world-class standard.
- Growing the technical capability (depth and breadth) of the Geosciences team and broadening the offering across the Worley business, both locally and globally.
- Overseeing and provision of project management support to assist with project delivery.
What you’ll have
- Highly effective people management and leadership skills.

- Strong doer-seller mentality and approach.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Tertiary qualification or equivalent in Civil/Geotechnical Engineering.
- Demonstrable Geotechnical Engineering experience in a consultancy environment.
- Sound technical and practical engineering skills and ability to consistently deliver quality, accurate and timely deliverables.
- Competent use or familiarity with a variety of industry-standard geotechnical software tools.
