In Unpaid Super, our dedicated staff have a proven track record of partnering with funds to ensure their arrears management process benefits the members and the fund. From specialised legal and insolvency activities through to end-to-end arrears management processes. We work with industry super funds and employers to make sure members get the super they’re entitled to, and help employers meet their obligations.

 
The Opportunity
Reporting directly to the Contact Centre Manager, you will lead a small team of 5 to 8 legal and insolvency specialists (Case Officers) to achieve operational objectives. This role will suit you if you love to get deep into the work and build expertise as you will also have a small portfolio of cases to manage yourself. You will promote a culture of collegiality, quality, compliance, and professionalism and display a passion for guiding others towards a continuous improvement culture.  
  
Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading the team in day-to-day activities to achieve set KRA’s while ensuring compliance in the complex and highly regulated environment
  • Meeting internal compliance standards, adhering to internal policies and processes and operating within relevant legislation
  • Taking accountability for work quality and key analytics to provide regular performance feedback to staff
  • Assisting in the planning and implementation of new initiatives and process improvements
  • Undertaking recruitment, onboarding, training, coaching, performance management processes, succession planning, offboarding, etc.
  • Either leading or contributing to key internal and external projects.
  • Leading people through change that supports business goals.
About You
Firstly, you are an experience Team Leader with great people management skills and experience working in complex and highly regulated environments. Next, you are a fast learner who is motivated, enthusiastic and looking to further your career with a Company you can be proud of.  
 
Selection Criteria
You will have:
  • 3+ years' experience as Team Leader in complex and highly regulated environments (for example debt recovery, legal and insolvency, Unpaid Super, etc) is essential.  
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Demonstrated capabilities in leading high performance teams including: training and development, succession planning, performance management, and Leading people through change
  • Achievement orientation and drive to succeed
  • A willingness to roll-up your sleeves and get into the work alongside your team  
  • The drive for continual learning and the ability to learn quickly and achieve process mastery
  • Resilience and tenacity
  • Knowledge of legal and insolvency recovery practices, Superannuation or Financial Services Industry would be a significant advantage
  • Knowledge of the Debt collection industry, recovery processes and governing legislation would also be a significant advantage
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics CRM and/or Power BI or similar would be an advantage but not essential
