The Opportunity
In this role, you will report to the Mining Superintendent and work an 8:6 (days) and 7:7 (nights) roster as part of our Onslow operation in Western Australia. Your focus will be on overseeing the planning and execution of Mine Development activities to ensure the safe, efficient, and timely development of mining projects.
Your primary responsibilities may include:
- Collaborating with Mine Planning Engineers and other stakeholders to develop detailed Mine Development plans, including the scheduling of equipment and resources.
- Coordinating the deployment of mining equipment and resources required for Mine Development activities, ensuring optimal utilisation and minimal downtime.
- Providing leadership and support to your team to ensure adherence to quality standards, productivity goals, and performance objectives.
- Driving an engaged safety culture and ensuring full compliance with statutory regulations and requirements in all activities.
- Monitoring and evaluating work crew performance and providing training, mentoring, and coaching as necessary.
What is Required?
Our ideal candidate will have a strong background in open-pit mining environments and be well-versed in operating at the supervisor level.
Other key skills, experience, and qualifications:
- A strong working knowledge of mine safety procedures and regulations.
- Schedule 26 Statutory Supervisor Certificate or be in the process of obtaining it.
- Whilst not essential, a Quarry Manager's Certificate of Competency will be highly regarded.
About Ken’s Bore (Onslow)
The Onslow Iron project is a landmark pit-to-port operation extending 150 kilometres eastward from Onslow to Ken’s Bore mine. The site is currently under construction with first ore expected in mid-2024. When launched, Onslow Iron will redefine mining with its world-first autonomous road trains, industry-leading dust-free transport, and resort-style accommodation for a workforce of around 800 people.
