About the role

Finding better ways to provide the materials the world needs.

We are looking for Development Supervisor join our Mine Operations team at Hope Downs 4. This role presents a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Supervisor or a Production or Drill Coordinator looking to take the next step in their career.

You’ll be part of a friendly team, supported by your leader to grow and achieve your own personal goals as well as the goals of the team. You’ll work on a 8 days on; 6 days off / 7 nights on; 7 nights off roster which will give you more time to spend on the things that are important to you and the people in your life.  

We are seeking motivated and enthusiastic individuals to influence and drive positive leadership to our dynamic teams of drill operators, enabling them to meet safe productivity, cost, and quality requirements to achieve targets within our operations.

Reporting to the Production Superintendent you will also:

  • Be an inspiring role model and coach for positive behaviours, practices and processes, whilst providing leadership, development and support to your team.
  • Implement production operation plan to maximize productivity while minimizing cost and environmental impact.
  • Complete daily inspections of the pit and drive a positive safety culture with your team.
  • Build and maintain relationships with multiple stakeholders to align on operational plans and strategies.
  • Execute the daily and weekly mine plan.

Located 50km north-west of Newman, Hope Downs 4 is a joint venture managed and operated by Rio Tinto, working in conjunction with nearby site Hope Downs 1. Hope Downs 4 provides excellent career growth and opportunities and the village provides excellent facilities for its FIFO workers.
