Objectives:
- Offer onsite geological guidance, assistance, and mentorship to the Open-cut mining operations.
- Conduct daily inspections of the pit, evaluating, monitoring, and reporting on coal clean-up standards and other factors affecting product quality or recovery.
- Interpret geological models to aid in comprehending evolving pit conditions.
- Perform high-wall mapping and structural analysis for timely integration into Short Term and LOM Model updates.
- Aid in the creation and dissemination of Short Term and LOM Models.
- Carry out coal quality and tonnage reconciliations.
- Provide backup and support to Engineering Geologists as needed.
- Hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology.
- Exhibit prior experience in an Open Cut Coal Mining Operation.
- Possess proficiency in Vulcan software and familiarity with tools like acQuire, Arcmap, Task Manager, and Geology Core.
- Possess a valid C class Driver's license.
- Have a thorough understanding of Coal Mining Safety and Health Legislation.
- Showcase strong motivation, work ethic, and adherence to safety protocols.
- Demonstrate exceptional communication skills and proactive initiative for effective collaboration with mine planning and production teams.
