AddressBarto Gold is a privately owned Australian gold explorer, developer, and producer who has been operating since 2009 and is focused on gold exploration and production in Western Australia.
Its flagship project is located at Marvel Loch in Western Australia, operating multiple open pits and an underground mine, which services a 2.1Mt per annum name plate processing facility.
These are supported by a tenement holding of greater than 1,400km2 over the prospective Southern Cross Greenstone Belt only 4 and a half hours from Perth.
Significant project investment to date has resulted in the company being well positioned to develop multiple >5 year mine life underground mines, in conjunction with continuing to produce from its open pit operations.2024 has commenced well, with ahead of schedule gold production, an increase in the resource of the current in production underground mine and the commencement of production at the first open pit of a new multi pit project.
Additionally, Exploration and Resource Definition operations have ramped up significantly and with a full pipeline of targets to review and test there is anticipated continued growth within the operations future.
This success to date has resulted in the company being able to extend it's current UG producing operations at Jaccoletti, while planning to recommence operations at both the historical Marvel Loch UG mine, not operated since the late 2000's and Frasers UG mine, not operated since 1997! in addition to having a full suite of open pit mining opportunities ahead of it.
Due to this we are actively seeking to recruit an Open Pit Mine Geologist to join our Southern Cross operation. This position will be 8 days on 6 days off BIBO from Perth; however, other travel options are available for professionals not residing in Perth.
About the role:
The successful applicant will join a small dynamic team of individuals from diverse and culturally different backgrounds that support each other.
The Open Pit Mine Geologist is an integral member of the team and will be responsible for the daily tracking of production operations and liaising other technical professionals in relation to the safe and efficient execution of underground production operations.
Reporting to and supported by the Senior Open Pit Mine Geologist, the role will include collaboration with the processing department regarding stockpile accounting, and the Exploration & Resource Definition teams regarding drilling on logging data generation operations.
About you:
The ideal candidate has one to two years' experience in a mine geology role preferably in gold
Character attributes of self-driven candidates with the ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively across a broad group of stakeholders will be highly regarded.
Essential to being successful in consideration for this role. You will possess the following skills, qualifications & personal attributes:
- Tertiary qualifications in Geology.
- 1 - 2 years' experience mine geology experience
- Demonstrated keen attention to detail and proactiveness.
- Professional planning, analytical, report writing and communication skills.
- High level administrative skills, including the ability to meet deadlines.
Desirable to be successful in consideration for this role. You will possess the following knowledge and have been exposed to these experiences:
- Mine Geology open pit experience, preferably in gold but not a requirement.
- Knowledge of 3D mining software packages Leapfrog and Surpac being desirable.
Duties and Responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the Senior Open Pit Geologist regarding the tracking and reporting or ore movements and grade control operations on daily, weekly and monthly cycles.
- Ensuring the Geology Department provides high quality technical services to the Mining, Environmental and Processing Departments.
- Ensure appropriate geological and mining activity reports are compiled in a timely manner.
- Reporting of safety observations, including hazards and interactions.
