The Role
Reporting to the Principal Mining Engineer at the Kanmantoo Copper Mine on an roster of 8 days on, 6 days off you will be working with a dedicated team of professionals, all striving towards the same goal!
With some main responsibilities including but not limited to:
- Stope drill and charge plan design in alignment with the 13WK Schedule.
- Preparation of the short-term weekly schedule to ensure alignment with 13WK/budget targets.
- QAQC of drill and blast practices underground to ensure a safe and productive operation.
- Assist in mine development design and issuing development plans/memos.
- Display a proactive attitude to safety, through safe and efficient mine design and scheduling decisions.
About you
- 2+ years experience in underground mining - preferably in sub-level open stoping.
- 1+ year experience in stope drill and blast design.
- Competent in Deswik software suite - CAD and UGDB essential, scheduler experience desirable.
- Mine planning/scheduling experience desirable but not essential – an excellent opportunity to develop your skills.
- Underground practical experience desirable but not essential – there is plenty of opportunity to get underground and have an impact at a small site.
- High level communication skills and the ability to be an independent worker with exceptional time management skills.
Minimum Requirements
- Current C class Australian drivers license
- Graduate qualification in Mining Engineering (or equivalent)
- Australian citizen/ Australian working rights
