About the Role
Join our dynamic team at Prominent Hill as we embark on a monumental expansion, including the Wira hoisting shaft and a significant increase in annual production. As a motivated and energetic Production Engineer, you'll play a vital role in delivering high quality drill and blast plans to the mining operation whilst working within a fast paced and enthusiastic team.
Location: Prominent Hill, South Australia (60-minute flight from Adelaide / 30-minute flight from Port Augusta)
Roster: 8 days on on-site; 6 days off
Employment Type: Permanent Full-Time
In this role you will:
- Develop drill, blast and production plans.
- Liaise with all stakeholders to ensure drill and blast designs meet site requirements.
- Regular time-in-field to ensure drill and blast activities are achievable in a safe and efficient manner.
- Oversee task observations and Critical Control Verifications (CCV) as required.
- Undertake QA/QC monitoring for production activities.
- Monitor and issue of development memos.
- Undertake stope reconciliations/abandonments on completion.
- Manage and monitor of the iKon blasting system.
- Monitor and maintain quality data with respect to underground performance.
- Undertake any projects as necessary to improve processes and practices.
- MDP’s required for mine development.
- Assist other Mining Engineering functions as required.
To apply for this role, you require the following qualifications, accreditations, and licenses:
- Degree in Mining Engineering or equivalent.
- A few years’ experience working in an underground, hard rock, metalliferous mine environment.
- 12 months UG practical experience desirable
- Proven experience in drill and blast design in sub-level open stoping.
- Proven ability to work in high pressure and dynamic environments.
- Microsoft Office and Deswik suite software experience
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- SA Driver’s Licence or equivalent.
