The Role:
We are currently seeking a Mine Site Accountant to join our high performing Vitrinite team. The role is based at our Vulcan mine complex located in the Bowen Basin approximately 45km from Dysart. The Vulcan mine complex has been in production since mid-2021 and consists of the existing Jupiter and planned Vulcan North, Main and South open cut pits as well as extensive highwall mining and potential underground mining reserves.
As the Mine-Site Accountant situated on-site, you will provide related activities of our accounting function, by providing reliable, accurate and timely processing of transactional related activities in accordance with the policies, procedures in place.
Roster:
The position is offered on a Monday to Friday roster based at our Vulcan Mine Complex near Dysart in Central Queensland.
Duties will include:
- Management accounting for key operating sites;
- Assist with insightful analysis to support senior decision makers;
- Support the preparation of annual operating budgets;
- Support the preparation of monthly 12mth rolling forecasts;
- Work closely with the operations team at the Mine Site to ensure strong communication and timely responses to business needs;
- Develop, implement and maintain accounting and administrative policies and procedures;
- Assist with ERP (Pronto) implementation where required;
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders to drive continual Improvement.
About the Candidate:
To be considered for this role, you will ideally possess the following skills and experience:
- At least 2 years' experience in a similar role within a Mining or Construction environment;
- A qualification in Commence, Accountancy, or a related field;
- A CPA/CA qualification will be highly regarded but not essential;
- Strong verbal and written communication skills;
- Pronto experience desired but not essential; and
- Sound computer skills with the Microsoft suite, including Outlook, Word (intermediate or advanced), MS Teams, Excel and PowerPoint.
