Kestrel is one of the world's largest producing underground coking, or metallurgical coal mines and produces around 7 million tonnes of metallurgical coal annually. Our coal is shipped to key markets in Asia and Europe to be used in the steel making process. The mine is located in the Bowen Basin, approximately 40km Northeast of Emerald in Central QLD. Our team's capability covers the entire mining process, from development to extraction and processing, environmental management and sustainable rehabilitation. We have an approved life of mine until 2033 and reserves to 2046 with the potential to increase further.

About the opportunity:
We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mine Surveyor to join out site-based team working a 7/7 rotating dayshift roster. In this role you report to the Senior Surveyor and provide best practice survey services across site whilst ensuring statutory compliance. You will also produce timely and accurate weekly reports and plans of the mining operation, whilst providing advice on emerging surveying issues.

In this role, you will support Kestrel by:
- Assisting in producing survey plans and requirements associated with the mine operation.
- Assisting the Senior Mine Surveyor with survey requirements.
- Utilising appropriate equipment and survey best practice to generate accurate survey data.
- Liaising with underground mining teams to ensure survey support is timely and effective.
- Assisting with upkeep and drafting of mine plans for regulatory submissions.
- Ensuring appropriate calibration and testing of survey equipment.
About you:
- Relevant qualifications in Surveying
- Mine Surveying experience within an Underground coal mining operation
- Experience with Leica or Trimble total station, Trimble GNSS, AutoCAD, & Component is desirable
- Excellent numeracy and communication skills (verbal and written)
- Manual driver's licence
