Mining Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Mining Engineer to join our team located in the Newcastle / Hunter Valley Region. Your role will be to support Mineco’s operations based out of its Newcastle Offices. Think nationally, work locally.

Mineco has operations throughout NSW, QLD & SA. We provide mining services in a wide range of fields including equipment operations, specialist operator and mining strategy training, engineering/technical services and equipment maintenance. This is an opportunity to work as part of a team to deliver superior quality mining and civil services to our valued clients in the Hunter Valley region.

The successful applicant will be a qualified Civil Engineer or equivalent who has the following:

• Bachelor of Civil / Mining Engineering degree or equivalent

• Experience with Modern Mine design and Mine scheduling software

• Vulcan &/Or Spry Experience preferrable

• 3+ Years experience in Open Cut Mining

• Strong attention to detail and technical excellence

• Living within the Hunter Valley/Newcastle area or willing to relocate as required

Your duties will include but are not limited to:

• Undertaking technical reviews and ensure quality of project deliverables

• Providing technical direction and leadership in the field

• Developing plans & schedules to necessitate the delivery of KPI’s

• Ongoing technical development of processes and practices within the organisation

• Ensuring compliance to legislative requirements and site standards

• Being flexible and adaptive in the execution of your day-to-day duties

• Presenting KPI’s and other data to management and stakeholders on all mining operation performance, activities and performance metrics

• Tendering for new projects inclusive of site optimisation initiatives

• Innovating and proposing creative solutions using your knowledge and experience

• Communicating, advising and presenting confidently
