Form of workRUC Mining is seeking an Underground Mining/Project Engineer to join our Freeport operations in Indonesia.
RUC Mining Contractors are an established Western Australian Underground Contractor with an extensive portfolio of Development, Production, Shaft Sinking and Raise boring projects throughout Australia and the Asia-Pacific.
About the Role
The Mining/Project Engineer will support the Senior Mining Engineer and Mine Operations team at the Big Gossan project. The Big Gossan Mine is a large sublevel open-stope mine producing in-excess of 250,000t per month utilizing shaft haulage and paste backfill.
RUC undertake the complete scope of UG mining works at Big Gossan such as production and development activities, operating shaft hoist, mine construction works and short-term scheduling.
Some of your key responsibilities include –
- Mentor and training national employees
- Short term planning & scheduling
- Review of drill and blast stope plans
- Provide technical support to mine operations team
- Identify technical and operational improvement initiatives
- Managing project work
Successful candidate must have:
- Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering or equivalent
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Relevant experience in both underground mining production and development activities
- 5 years’ experience in mechanized metalliferous underground mining environment
- Exposure to underground drill and blast design functions and associated software (Deswik pref.)
- Completion of practical underground time
- Driver’s license
Desirable
- Australian Shift supervisor’s certificate
- Overseas experience
- Previous experience in mine project engineering
