MinRes is seeking an experienced Senior Underground Mining Engineer to lead and support the Mount Marion Underground team in all facets of short to medium-term mining planning, production, and project engineering. Fly in and out of Perth on an 8x6 roster, this role is crucial in providing oversight and management of our Underground Mining contractor and ensuring the efficient operation of all underground activities. You will also play a pivotal role in project planning and management, contributing to the strategic objectives of our operations.
- Lead and manage technical aspects of underground development and pre-production activities.
- Develop and deliver optimised short- to medium-term underground mine plans, including mine design and scheduling.
- Translate conceptual designs into detailed mine instructions for lateral and vertical mine development and stope notes.
- Oversee mining contractor activities to ensure compliance with mine plans and safety standards.
- Collaborate with geology, geotechnical, environmental, engineering, and site implementation teams to align mine plans with business objectives.
- Estimate, analyse, select, and justify underground capital infrastructure to support mine plans.
- Identify risks and opportunities in mine plans, develop mitigation strategies, and enable opportunity capture.
- Develop and implement mine planning and production systems, procedures, standards, and templates.
What you’ll bring to the team
- Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering
- Western Australian Underground Mining Supervisor or Underground Manager (non-coal) Certificate.
- Proven experience (7+ years) in underground planning, operations and projects
- Highly proficient in the Deswik suite of underground mine planning products (Deswik. CAD, Deswik SCHED)
- Previous experience in large-scale, complex Underground Mining environments.
- Highly experienced in short to medium-term underground mine planning activities.
- Highly experienced in underground production activities.
- Experience with pastfill and ventilation design preferable.
