We support over 40,000 emergency presentations, 1,100 births and approximately 11,000 operations each year.WWBH provides services including critical care, medical, surgical, pediatric, obstetric, and rehabilitation care along with mental health and community health services.We work with a team of specialists which include cardiovascular, gastroenterology, renal medicine, obstetrics, orthopedics, psychiatry and pediatrics. Visit us .What you'll be doingThis role will deliver contemporary comprehensive and professional specialist services within our Hospital In The Home (HITH), Rapid Access Clinic and Infusion Clinic services at Wagga Wagga Base Hospital, that are safe, effective, evidence based and patient centered.The care will be provided within the scope of practice granted by the MLHD Medical and Dental Appointments Advisory Committee.
- Medical practitioner with specialist registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and Fellow of the relevant specialist medical college including but not limited to FRACP, FACRRM, FRACGP, FACEM or other college fellowship as determined suitable for this position as per the MLHD Medical and Dental Appointments Advisory Committee) and/or other specialist recognition as provided for in the Staff Specialist (State) Award.
- Demonstrated current clinical practice, relevant to this position, of high standard and ability to adapt clinical practice in accordance with contemporary evidence based best practice
- Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement, patient safety and risk management.
- Willingness to teach medical students and other staff of the hospital when reasonably requested with demonstrated understanding of and commitment to clinical quality improvement and peer review, Equal Employment Opportunity and Occupational Health Safety and Rehabilitation.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively and harmoniously with medical and other health service colleagues as part of a multi-disciplinary health care team and demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with patients, colleagues and staff and to work as an effective member of the clinical team.
- Demonstrated ability to comply with the service objectives of public health organizations, including the provision of service to local community, effective utilization of resources, preparedness to participate in provision of health services at LHD level, if credentialed
- Demonstrated commitment to continuing medical education relevant to area of practice.
- Demonstrated commitment to behaviors which align to the NSW Health CORE values and MLHD Values, goals and strategies.
