Women’s Health Ambulatory Care (WHAC) is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced midwife to join the team who provide midwifery care to the women in our community. The position is offered as permanent part time 28 hours a week.

Where you'll be working
This role is based at Royal North Shore Hospital, with occasional travel to Ryde Hospital.
WHAC provides care to pregnant women of high to low levels of risk. These services are available through obstetric, midwifery, Day Assessment Unit and Maternal Fetal Medicine Unit clinics. In the same area menopause, gynaecology, gynaecology oncology and gynaecology colposcopy clinics occur. The midwife is seen to be responsible in providing clinical care and assisting in the smooth running of the clinics. The medical and midwifery team is complimented by social workers, a perinatal mental health team, ultrasonographers, ward clerks, genetic counsellors, nurses and the students of each discipline. Care is provided in a dynamic team of clinicians in a supportive and educative environment.
What you'll be doing
The NSLHD Nursing and Midwifery Workforce will be compassionate, competent, confident, contemporary, capable and committed to leading person-centred health care.
To provide quality woman centred, effective, evidenced based midwifery care in accordance with the ANMC National Competency Standards for the Midwife (2006) and to supervise the work of others as required.The midwife will consult and liaise with obstetric, medical and other appropriate staff as per the ACM National Midwifery Guidelines for Consultation and referral (PD2010_022) guidelines when deviations from the norm are identified.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Midwife
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with a high level of written and verbal skills with both patients and colleagues.
- Recent experience and competency to practise as a midwife in antenatal, labour, birth and postnatal care, lactation and infant feeding.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment.
- Current unrestricted NSW Drivers licence.
