The Role & The Team

Reporting to the National Assessing Manager, you will be part of the Claims and Service team, an inclusive and supportive team, performing interesting/customer service focused work and will be employed on a permanent and full-time basis.

This opportunity will see you: 

  • Supervise internal and external assessors in the Northern region, ensuring assessment quality, cycle times, customer service, and compliance with codes. 
  • Determine appropriate settlement methods for claims, negotiate repair costs, and establish market values for insured and third-party claims. 
  • Identify potential fraud or inconsistencies in damage claims.
  • Review and comply with relevant state legislation (eg., WOVR requirements), provide technical support to the Claims department, and address customer inquiries and complaints. 
  • Supervise and monitor work in progress, coordinating work assigned to repairers, and ensuring quality of repairs.
  • Conduct audits of assessments to ensure compliance with company guidelines in line with KPI’s.
  • Meeting compliance requirements of relevant laws and regulations, industry codes, and ADICA organisational standards.
  • Assist and manage catastrophe events and dealer claims.

This role will be remote and, on the road, covering NSW and QLD and can potentially be based in Sydney or Brisbane. 

Your Skills & Experience

We are looking for someone who is/has: 

  • A trade qualification and a minimum of five years of post-apprenticeship experience in their profession as a panel beater, spray painter or motor mechanic; or
  • More than five years of experience as a motor insurance assessor; or
  • Completed a Certificate IV Vehicle Loss Assessing Course
  • PC and computer literacy, and experience using assessing software.
  • Current driver’s licence - required
  • Experience in dealing with vehicle manufacturers in relation to motor vehicle repair matters – desired.
  • Experience in using Microsoft Suite (e.g. Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel) – desired.
  • Whilst not essential, Experience using EstImage (Stelvio) will be highly regarded.
