Required Qualification & Work Experience
· AQF Diploma or above + Minimum 2 years of work experience
Or
· AQF Certificate III or above + Minimum 4 years of work experience
Or
· Minimum 6 years of work experience if without the required qualification
Job description
· detecting and diagnosing faults in engines and parts
· dismantling and removing engine assemblies, transmissions, steering mechanisms and other components, and checking parts
· repairing and replacing worn and defective parts and reassembling mechanical components, and referring to service manuals as needed
· performing scheduled maintenance services, such as oil changes, lubrications and engine tune-ups, to achieve smoother running of vehicles and ensure compliance with pollution regulations
· reassembling engines and parts after being repaired
· testing and adjusting mechanical parts after being repaired for proper performance
· diagnosing and testing parts with the assistance of computers
· may inspect vehicles and issue roadworthiness certificates or detail work required to achieve roadworthiness
· Conduct regular maintenance on machinery, systems, and automotive vehicles.
· Meet with clients to better understand their concerns and identify the issue.
· Assemble mechanical components according to specifications.
· Examine machines and oversee diagnostic tests to determine functionality problems.
· Design a plan of action for all maintenance tasks and upgrades.
· Maintain work logs, repairs, and maintenance records.
· Monitor inventory and order new parts when necessary.
· Offer consultation on maintenance and preventative procedures to machine and vehicle users.
· Perform vehicle assessments and alert clients on issues that will prohibit their vehicles from passing inspection.
