The RoleOur instrumental teachers are an integral part of our Performance Music Program.
As a Brass Specialist Instrumental Teacher (Upper and/or Lower) your role is teaching group and private lessons for students from P-12 and includes directing/conducting a bands and ensemble as required.
Under the guidance of the Head of Performance Music you will provide a supportive learning journey for your instrument students and ensembles.

You are passionate about your instrumental specialization and have a collaborative style, ability to work positively, both autonomously and as a team with the leaders and other Instrument Teachers in the program.
You have great communication skills and administration skills to communicate effectively with the children, families and colleagues alike with a commitment to ensuring the best outcomes for all children in the program always.
Other skills you have include:
- Sound ability to teach multiple brass instruments. Skilled in teaching trumpet, horn, trombone, euphonium, or tuba to an intermediate (AMEB Grade 5 or 6) standard.
OR
- Sound ability to teach one of lower brass (trombone, euphonium, and tuba) OR upper brass (trumpet and horn).
- Awareness of appropriate repertoire that promotes holistic and enthusiastic learning.
- Ability to assist with rehearsals and performances that involve Brass players.
- Ability to work both individually and in a team environment and without direct supervision.
- Ability to work with students from Years 3 to 12.
- Experience or an interest in working with students and staff in a school environment and ability to motivate them to succeed.
- Experience teaching both small group and private lessons.
- A client-centred focus in the performance of duties.
- Ability to obtain and hold a Qld Working with Children Blue Card
