DISABILITY SUPPORT WORKER

ABOUT THE ROLE:
We are currently seeking passionate Disability Support Workers who genuinely want to make a difference in the lives of our care recipients. This role is not in SIL Homes.
As a Disability Support Worker, you will be working as part of our Direct Support team to provide social support, personal care, household assistance, manual handling, transport support as well as High Intensity Clinical Supports such as Complex Bowel Care, Diabetes, Enteral Feeding.

Is willing to commit to a variety of different shifts including overnight, weekends and public holidays.
Lives and breathes Person-Centred Practices and agree that genuine Choice and Control in all aspects of a care recipients’ life is our greatest outcome.
Is willing to support care recipients in all aspects of their support needs.
Is able to build rapport with care recipients and their families and is an excellent communicator.
Be able to remain calm in challenging situations and be able to actively problem solve on a day to day basis.
Understands the importance of maintaining confidentiality, privacy and duty of care to care recipients’ circumstances and organisational matters, at all times.
Enjoys working collaboratively as part of team however takes ownership of their role and is able to work independently.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Current NSW Working with Children Check
Cleared and Current National Criminal History Check
Cleared or willing to complete a NDIS Worker Screening Check with Service NSW
Current First Aid Certificate
Australian Drivers Licence
Evidence of Vaccinations and Immunisations against Infectious Diseases including COVID 19
Reliable and comprehensively insured car
Ability and commitment to maintaining a safe environment
Completed or willing to complete NDIS Quality & Safeguards Module training – “Quality, Safety & You”
Completed or willing to complete NDIS Quality & Safeguards Module training –Support Effective Communication
- A Certificate III in Individual Support or higher
