Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced business services executive to join our executive team in the capacity of National Business and Finance Manager. The National Business and Finance Manager will oversight and ensure the effective delivery of EdConnect’s business services including finance and risk management, IT, Data and Communications systems and HR. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of business modelling and management accounting with a focus on revenue generation and support.
This is a unique opportunity to play a key leadership role in a vibrant national not-for-profit organisation that recruits and trains over 1,000 volunteers to provide life changing mentoring and learning support in over 260 schools impacting over 19,000 students.

Skills & Experience that will enable you to succeed in the role
- Proven finance and business management/company secretary experience in the not-for-profit sector and/or commercial environment.
- CPA/CA Qualified with a minimum of 4 years experience in a similar role.
- Strategic thinker that relishes strategic projects and can analyse and provide evidence to support business decision making.
- Proven ability to develop and support strategies to grow and diversify revenue streams.
- Outstanding people management skills and an ability to support board, staff, volunteers and stakeholders in multiple locations.
- Ability to prepare financial and management accounts.
- Outstanding IT, Data Management and systems skills.
- Professional, energetic, optimistic, with a “can do” attitude
- Expert with the MYOB Accounting Software and other applications.
You will be responsible for, but not limited to:
- Managing the day-to-day Business and financial activities of EdConnect.
- Preparation of finance reports, papers and minutes for management, board committees and the board.
- Leading, the annual budgeting process with staff and providing performance feedback against budgets and targets.
- Legislative and governance compliance.
- IT, Data and systems management.
- Risk Management systems and processes.
- Providing strategic financial advice and support to the CEO and Management team.
- Accounts payable, receivable and payroll.
- Supporting the preparation of grant and funding proposals and acquittals.
- Streamlining of processes and maximising system efficiencies to achieve service improvements.
- Contributing to policy formation, planning recommendations and continuous process improvement initiatives.
Salary range $95,000 - $104,000 (pro rata) plus SGC superannuation (currently 11%).
Generous NFP salary packaging also available.
