The Head Teacher Languages will coordinate a staff of 22 teachers of Italian and Modern Greek.
Applicants must satisfy the teacher training and academic qualification requirements for this position. In addition to the general selection criteria,
Approval to teach Italian or Modern Greek in Years 9-12 and one other language Years 9-12 taught at NSW School of Languages.
Proven commitment and ability to work as part of a large Executive Team, focusing on strengthening the school strategic vision and whole school priorities.
Highly visible, innovative and engaging leader with outstanding interpersonal and communication skills who has demonstrated experience in supporting staff with diverse teaching experience, home school supervisors, parents and students.
Capacity to lead and supervise languages programs and the development of blended learning materials including assessments to support the engagement and participation of students in differentiated distance education learning programs.
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs
3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams
4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents
5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning
6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy
