Your day to day will include:
- Offer invaluable counsel to the CEO and management regarding all aspects of human resources and organisational culture.
- Handle industrial relations matters comprehensively, from negotiation and conflict resolution to ensuring compliance with labour laws and resolving disputes such as unfair dismissal claims.
- Spearhead the development and execution of initiatives aimed at enhancing leadership capabilities, talent planning, and overall development.
- Manage return-to-work programs, worker's compensation claims, and holistic employee well-being.
- Assist in implementing, preparing audits for, and maintaining a formal company QHSE system.
- Track and report on workplace health and safety performance.
- Cultivate strong relationships with peers to foster collaboration and trust in the work environment.
- Uphold and advocate for company values both internally and externally, ensuring alignment with organisational objectives.
- Foster a supportive and inclusive workplace culture where all employees feel valued and respected, including promoting diversity and inclusion initiatives.
- Provide coaching, mentorship, and leadership to the multifunctional Human Resources team.
- Oversee the implementation of high-quality people programs and complex change initiatives aimed at enhancing both individual and organisational performance, including involvement in selecting and implementing a Human Resources Information Management System.
- Stay updated on legislative changes and modern HR practices.
- Collaborate to ensure effective governance within the Human Resources team and across the organisation.
- Supervise the HR team's management of the entire human resources life cycle.
- Bachelor's degree in HR, Psychology, or management preferred
- Demonstrated track record in Human Resource Management or People and Culture Management
- Experience leading diverse HR teams
- Dedication to fostering a supportive workplace culture
- Comfortable conducting site visits in construction and dredging environments with proper safety gear
- Exceptional interpersonal skills for engaging with various stakeholders
- Lead with empathy and influence to ensure all employees are kept safe
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIMS
- Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities
