About the role
As the National Scientific & Technical Services Manager, you will lead your team to ensure national consistency in the co-ordination and delivery of Lifeblood's objective to supply blood products and external client services within Manufacturing and Logistics.
Your role is to advise and inform reporting and trend analysis of deviations, investigations and incidents as well as managing risks and seeking opportunities for continuous improvement .
We see this as a great opportunity for an experienced leader with a strong background in a related science field to lead and enhance team capabilities at a national level.
A day in the role will see you:
- Provide leadership to optimise team capability and engagement
- Act as the primary resource for scientific and technical expertise to support Lifeblood's strategic objectives
- Identify and prioritize concepts and initiatives to align with Lifeblood strategic direction
- Represent Lifeblood externally with Government and international blood operators
- Act as technical liaison with critical vendors and support vendor approval program.
- Implement endorsed business improvement initiatives within program scope
- Guide and participate in complex problem-solving and troubleshooting activities.
- Assess and advise on blood processing, testing, facilities, systems, validation, and quality disciplines.
Sound interesting? Here's what we're looking for:
- Bachelor of Science in a biomedical discipline (or equivalent)
- Experience in a senior scientific and technical management role, preferably in a regulated manufacturing environment
- Strong leadership capabilities with a passion for sharing knowledge and team development
- Demonstrated experience in leading and implementing change according to a Nationally directed agenda
- High level of expertise in multiple disciplines and specialist areas, with a demonstrated capability of success in applying and adapting this to complex cross functional matters
- Knowledge of the Australian regulatory environment applicable to manufacture of blood and blood components and medical devices/ in-vitro diagnostic devices (TGA regulations, NATA and NPAAC)
- Proven ability to develop effective interpersonal relationships and consult with a range of external and internal stakeholders
