McConaghy Australia Pty Ltd is a world leader in the construction of advanced composite boats & structures with an impressive build portfolio.
With our state-of-the-art manufacturing resources, dedicated team of designers, composite craftsmen and technicians, we create internationally recognised vessels of uncompromising
performance, quality and precision. We are currently looking for a Naval Architect/Project Manager to expand our team and assist with the production of Composite projects in Marine & Defence industries.
Successful applicants will be keen, self-motivated & reliable with a required 2 years’ experience in manufacturing or construction and working with highly qualified and experienced tradesman.
Responsibilities include:
- Budget & schedule creation and management
- Assisting the current projects from concept to sea trials
- Regular interaction with production, design teams and management
- Liaison with the Project team for estimation, planning and sequencing of structural components manufacture and assembly
- Monitoring progress of assigned tasks to ensure timely completion of project deliverables
- 3D and 2D design and drawing review of others work
- Weight analysis, stability analysis
- Willingness and ability to be actively involved in frequent on-board discussions and reviews
You must have:
- Experience in the manufacture and understanding of composite materials
- Experience in dealing with third party consultants, and regulatory bodies
- Experience within a production facility
- An excellent communicator, ability to work stand alone, and to lead small teams on a project basis
- Team focused with a high degree of initiative and self-motivation
- Auto CAD experience for production drawings is necessary
- 3D modelling experience with Rhino 3D is necessary
- Experience in an ISO quality management system framework
Desirable:
- Defence clearance (DISP)
