**Job Title: Disability Support Worker**
**Job Description:**

**Responsibilities:**
1. Provide direct support to individuals with disabilities in a culturally sensitive manner, respecting their diversity and individuality.
2. Assist clients with daily activities such as personal care, meal preparation, medication administration, and household tasks.
3. Foster a supportive and inclusive environment that promotes independence and empowerment for clients from CALD backgrounds.
4. Collaborate with clients, their families, and other support services to develop and implement individualized care plans.
5. Communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders, demonstrating cultural sensitivity and understanding.
6. Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of client progress, incidents, and any other relevant information.
7. Participate in ongoing training and professional development activities to enhance cultural competence and service delivery.
8. Adhere to organizational policies, procedures, and relevant industry standards to ensure the safety and well-being of clients and staff.
9. Flexibly adapt to changing circumstances and environments, demonstrating the ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
10. Uphold principles of confidentiality, respect, and dignity in all interactions with clients and colleagues.
**Requirements:**
1. Previous experience working as a Disability Support Worker or in a similar role, with a demonstrated understanding of the needs of individuals with disabilities.
2. Strong cultural competence and experience working with CALD communities, with the ability to communicate effectively in multiple languages considered an asset.
3. Compassionate and empathetic approach to supporting individuals with disabilities, with a commitment to promoting their rights and autonomy.
4. Reliable and dependable, capable of working under supervision or independently as required.
5. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with clients, families, and colleagues.
6. Ability to problem-solve and respond effectively to challenging situations in a calm and professional manner.
7. Current First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
8. Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle (preferred).
9. Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to meet the needs of clients.
10. A clear National Police Check and Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain).
