This is a long-term contract role with an initial duration of 12 months, with a possible extension of 12 months, located in Canberra, Melbourne, or Brisbane.
As the selected candidate, you will:
- Collaborate with Scrum Masters, Delivery Leads, Release Leads, Release Train Engineers, Tech Leads, Test Leads, Architects, System Analysts, other Developers, Management, and Stakeholders to deliver products from inception to production and BAU.
- Contribute to code quality through code reviews, unit testing, and automation.
- Work within an agile project delivery team.
- Support testers in planning and executing functional and non-functional tests.
- Keep team members informed of progress and any risks.
- Actively participate in Agile events (sprint planning, demos, reviews, standups).
- Collaborate with product and design teams to understand user requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Experience developing and supporting .NET C# applications.
- Experience with application security and identity management, preferably with OpenID and JWTs.
- Considerable experience working with AWS suite of applications.
- Good understanding of SOLID principles, HTTP protocol, REST, microservice patterns, T-SQL, and NodeJS.
- Ability to deliver solutions independently and take ownership of components.
- Expertise in implementing enterprise architecture standards and procedures during development.
- Ability to apply high-level judgment in the assessment and estimation of solutions, ensuring compliance with their architecture and IT standards.
- Experience delivering projects involving the development and/or maintenance of computer applications in line with their standards.
- Active participation in the development lifecycle (analysis, design, building, testing, pair-programming, code-reviews, documenting, and maintenance).
- Initiative in problem-solving and incident resolution, with a good understanding of change control and release management procedures.
- Experience with DevOps and CI/CD, preferably with Azure DevOps and PowerShell.
- Experience with work items, workflow systems (ideally Azure DevOps), and source code management (Git).
- Experience contributing to technical documentation, ideally with UML.
- Ability to critically evaluate technology and tools and provide recommendations.
- Experience with relational database design and implementation (ideally with T-SQL).
- Experience with database deployment scripting technologies (preferably DACPAC).
- Experience with query optimization and performance tuning.
- Ability to research and suggest new database products, services, and protocols.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to build and maintain networks internally and externally.
- Commitment to continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.
- Willingness to mentor and train junior staff.
- Ability to contribute innovative ideas and promote quality excellence within the team.
