Job Responsibilities:
The Network Administrator provides ICT and Network Systems support across PPA's sites. The Network Administrator is also responsible for providing ICT and Network Support outside of business hours as required.
Provide level 1 & 2 support for Microsoft Operating Systems, Active Directory & Network Services.
Log and maintain notes for helpdesk queries.
Assist with maintenance and rectification of faults on office equipment such as multifunctional devices, video conferencing, IPTV, mobile computing (i.e., iPhone) and desk phones.
Provide remote and afterhours support across all PPA sites.
Provide network administration and support to networking devices such as switches/routers and Wi-Fi network.
Maintain the network support process and ensure that all requests for support are undertaken in alignment with agreed procedures.
Ensure network configurations meet operational requirements in alignment with agreed procedures.
Use network management software and tools to investigate and diagnose network problems, collect performance statistics, andcreate reports.
Contribute to the design of specific network components using agreed architectures, design standards, patterns, and methodology.
Assist with the translation of logical designs into physical designs that meet specified operational parameters for capacity and performance.
Review and verify network designs against non-functional requirements, including validation and error correction procedures, access, security and audit controls.
Contribute to the development of recovery routines and contingency procedures.
Contribute to alternative network architectures, networking topologies and design options.
Selection Criteria:
Relevant qualification in ICT from a recognised tertiary institution.
Certificates in networking such as Cisco Certified Network professional (CCNP), and Palo Alto or Fortinet would be advantageous
Working knowledge and experience in Microsoft Operating Systems, Active Directory and Office Applications.
Demonstrated experience troubleshooting hardware, networking, and communication devices.
Sound communication and problem-solving skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
Well-developed customer service skills with experience operating in a client centric service provider environment.
Previous experience working with systems such as PRTG, Serial / 3G Data loggers, IPTV, Exchange, and VM ESX Servers would be advantageous.
