As a leader of our Hitachi Energy Network Control Operations and Practice Manager, you will be responsible for nurturing, mentoring, and delivering results with a team of Engineers and Consultants across the APAC region. The team is ultimately responsible for supporting Hitachi Energy’s delivery of solutions, implementation, and customer success.
Your Responsibilities:
- To lead and drive a progressive team to support our APAC Network Control Operations effort by articulating the business value and solution offerings of Hitachi Energy Enterprise Software – Network Control to customers and prospects as part of the pre-sales effort, building customer rapport and facilitating customer project evaluation of relevant products/systems as part of the sales engagement and take full ownership of the subsequent project execution process.
- Define and implement the practice strategy as it aligns with the Sales and delivery Strategy in each country, provide input to the regional BU strategy in partnership with the management team, and monitor the internal and external environment for issues of strategic importance to maintain and improve the business's industry knowledge and market intelligence.
- Review the current portfolio and identify key business development opportunities that materially increase value, including potential new markets, territories, products, and customers. Lead and participate in internal initiatives to contribute to the team's strategic direction.
- Provide mentoring, guidance, and training to technical team members.
- Develop regional EMS / SCADA-related best practices/templates for implementation and support.
- Provide guidance and recommendations to own team members, peers, management, and Global Product Group (GPG) teams regarding short-term and long-term system goals and technology roadmap.
- Technical / engineering resource identification, planning, and management for projects and operations, including forecasting and hiring (business case justified).
- Support architecture, design, and implementation efforts, including hands-on software development.
- Work with customers to understand their requirements and ongoing strategy in order to provide or develop technical solutions for meeting their short-term and long-term business goals.
- Work with the lead center and other relevant stakeholders to manage all escalated design and implementation issues to proper closure.
- Work directly with vendors and senior leadership, as well as engineers, IT specialists, architects, and analysts from various disciplines, to achieve desired business outcomes.
- Alignment with the Global Product Group Strategy and translation of thought leadership into executable sales initiatives. Lead and develop a capable, highly motivated, responsive, and dedicated practice team resourced to support the Local and Hub Business Units, manage, develop, and retain a team of practice engineers and consultants dedicated to delivering consulting and execution services that maximize sales opportunity closure and revenue generation.
- Lead, advocate, and role model Hitachi Energy's behavior, values, and attitudes. Lead by example and drive a Zero-Harm culture. Develop a cost-effective and responsive organizational structure to suit the business's customer and operational needs. Ensure compliance with all written company policies and statutory requirements.
- Deliver quarterly metrics, including sales success, client presentations and demonstrations, RFI/RFP submissions and staff retention/satisfaction—support for account strategy, opportunity planning and leadership of practice. Consulting engagement for strategic and complex opportunities, engaging with sales management to ensure that Hitachi Energy Enterprise Software value is appropriately positioned.
- Build strong relationships with senior customer stakeholders to ensure they understand the value of partnering with our Enterprise Software business. Facilitate customer understanding through presentations, demonstrations, and benchmarks and serve as the escalation point for resolving issues the Consultants/Engineers or Sales teams escalated.
- Actively mentor individual practice consultants/engineers by participating in client meetings (in-person and remote) and coaching them on improving and working in partnership with the Sales Managers to provide direction to the practice and Sales team in line with Local Business Unit Strategy. Ensure (with HR manager and Manager support) that the area of responsibility is properly organized, staffed, skilled and directed, and guide, motivate and develop direct and indirect subordinates within HR policies.
- Apply the Annual Performance Management and succession planning process to ensure motivated and appropriately skilled employees meet the region's short—and long-term goals. Oversee and guide the career paths of team members, including annual performance reviews.
- Lead, drive, and hold itself accountable for the highest standards of health, safety, and environment to ensure Zero Harm is achieved. Responsible for compliance with relevant HSE policy and procedures, ensuring proactive risk assessments take place and corrective actions are monitored/followed up.

- Minimum ten years of relevant experience successfully growing and managing a team of SCADA, EMS, DMS, MMS, or similar engineers and experts for sales support and implementation. Experienced Operations and practice consulting manager with teams of 5 or more consultants/engineers. Ability to motivate, lead, and focus a team to align with the business's growth strategies. Willingness to 'roll up one's sleeves' and assist wherever needed.
- A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in computer science, business, or a related field (a Master's degree is preferred).
- Team player who will engage with peers and colleagues to continually improve engagement and performance. Building and maintaining solid relationships with diverse internal and external constituencies, including senior-level executives and legal, technical, finance, support, sales, and marketing experts.
- Previous experience with a major software vendor or Consulting/SI organization, including participation and leadership in selling software solutions to enterprise companies.
- Demonstrated business development experience working with customers and colleagues to scope and sell professional services and software solutions—excellent communication, sales, and presentation skills.
- Familiarity with EMS modelling tools (SCADA, Network, Generation) and display building tools.
- Experience within asset-intensive industries, specifically utilities, transportation, and public infrastructure, is preferable.
- Demonstrable outstanding mentoring skills and experience for direct reports and to support peers and colleagues to achieve targeted results.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability and confidence to develop and present to senior audiences.
