Primary Location VIC - DandenongJob Description Summary Be part of a new way forward for road network management in Victoria!About the RoleWe’re excited to have been selected as Preferred Tenderer for the Victorian Road Maintenance Contract (Metro) – South Central Region!Starting in July this year, we’ll be working across Melbourne’s south-eastern suburbs and right down the Mornington Peninsula, delivering routine maintenance, emergency response and defect rectification works, as well as network refurbishment and upgrade projects, under a major long-term contract with the Victorian Government.Our mission is to deliver safer and more reliable journeys for Victorian road users, keep communities better connected, and create a more sustainable road network. Location: Melbourne CBD / Dandenong SouthTarget Start Date: Mid-MayHow you'll contribute:Reporting to the Inspections Lead, the Network Inspector contributes to safe, compliant and efficient completion of the VRMC Routine Inspection Program.Specifically, the Network Inspector is accountable for:Inspecting, assessing and reporting on status and condition of pavement and roadside assets in line with Section 750 PB requirements, contract specifications and internal processesUploading inspection data to IRIS (Service Stream’s Intelligent Road Information System) in line with Section 750 PB requirements and data management processesIdentifying hazards requiring urgent rectification, raising work orders in IRIS and liaising with the Pre-Works team to prioritise rectificationPerforming or coordinating make-safes for hazards requiring urgent rectification, remaining on-site where required, pending arrival of the allocated Rapid Response or Maintenance crewContributing to the development and improvement of inspection procedures and processes, including inspection data collection and management processes​Starting and finishing each day with a virtual or in-person Inspection team briefing, in a typical week you’ll spend around 75% of your time in the field.About You:You’ll have at least five years’ experience in a road maintenance or civil works environment, including at least two years’ experience carrying out inspections of bridges and other structural assets on state or local road networks.A committed team player who drives for service excellence and continuous improvement, you’ll demonstrate:A track record of carrying out inspections with a relentless focus on worker, road user and community safety, complying with legislative standards, contract specifications and internal quality processesHigh levels of self-motivation, exceptional time-management skills and a proven ability to work efficiently with minimal supervisionExperience with asset databases and GIS-based systems, underpinned by a sound knowledge of asset management principlesStrong verbal communication, data analysis, report writing and administration skills ​​Level 1 Structures Inspector accreditation and a current Victorian driver’s license are mandatory. Level 2 accreditation will be highly regarded. Formal qualifications (Cert III or higher) in civil construction are a bonus, but not essential if you can demonstrate equivalent knowledge and capability.Why you should join the VRMC team:
