Our client is seeking a Network Systems Engineer to join their team in Parramatta NSW.
Roles and responsibilities
Analyzing, developing, interpreting and evaluating complex system design and architecture specifications, data models and diagrams in the development, configuration and integration of computer systems
Change Management, including the preparation and implementation of Changes on several Gateway Devices – Firewalls/Proxies/DNS/Load Balancers
Researching, analyzing, evaluating and monitoring network infrastructure to ensure networks are configured to operate at optimal performance
Assessing and recommending improvements to network operations and integrated hardware, software, communications and operating systems
Installing, configuring, testing, maintaining and administering new and upgraded networks, software database applications, servers and workstations
Monitoring network traffic, and activity, capacity and usage to ensure continued integrity and optimal network performance
Management of global network and virtualization environments (VMware Server/Nutanix/Hyper V), both hardware and software, ensuring systems are running efficiently and securely, specific to roads engineering
Ensuring data security, backup and storage management as per schedule.
Provide expert assistance and troubleshooting for network emergencies and resolving issues, providing standby and after hours support as required to support offices.
Plan, design, and deploy LANs, WANs, wireless networks, firewall management and including servers, routers, hubs, and switches.
Troubleshoot system and network problems, diagnosing hardware and software faults, and resolve technical and application issues.
Manage servers, including database, email, printer, and backup servers, along with associated operating systems and software upgrades.
Develop technical documentation related to network configuration, network mapping, and service records.
Undertaking routine preventative measures and implementing, maintaining and monitoring network security, particularly if the network connects to the internet
Preparing and maintaining procedures and documentation for network inventory, and recording diagnosis and resolution of network faults, enhancements and modifications to networks, and maintenance instructions
Providing training and technical support for users with varying levels of IT knowledge and competence if required
Server / Network:
Windows Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, Domain Controllers.
Virtualization Technologies – VMware.
Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Windows Server
Strong system administration (Windows 2012/16 & 2019, Basic knowledge of Power shell command or scripting, Experience in scripting (Power Shell) and building required automation.
Microsoft 365 Administration.
Mailbox migration.
Desktop Operating Systems:
Good understanding of the Windows Operating System.
Microsoft 365 applications.
Troubleshooting Abilities
Bachelor of Information and Technology
At least 5 years experience
