Network Technical Officer
- Level 4 Zone A
- Commencement Salary: $112,116 plus 15% superannuation

The Opportunity
Our Network Operations team is looking for a collaborative and service-orientated individual with strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills to take on the Networks Technical Officer role. We are after someone who has the drive to continually develop their skills and knowledge and can offer the business the technical and organisational skills required to assist in the monitoring and daily operations of Icon Water’s water and sewerage networks in the ACT region.
As the Network Technical Officer, you will:
- Monitor and ensure the smooth operation and control of the water and wastewater networks
- Participate in the on-call roster for after-hours operation, providing support to field crews and water treatment operators in the monitoring and control of the bulk, distribution and reticulation water network.
- Provide expert operational response and support to incidents and emergencies, and well as advice and technical information as required. This occasionally includes participating in unscheduled on-call and after-hours operational support during these events
- Undertake investigations, initiative improvements, and make recommendations for the efficient and safe operations of the water and wastewater networks
- Contribute to the design and planning of the networks’ operations and capital works projects within the water and wastewater networks
- Undertake administrative duties such as the preparation and checking of daily reports/logs, permits for access to assets, contract management, budget tracking, data variation, and other duties
To be successful for this role, you will need:
- Relevant Tertiary qualifications and/or equivalent experience
- Demonstrated skills and experience in the operation of water and wastewater assets, including the ability to operate computer-based SCADA systems
- Demonstrated experience in the undertaking of technical studies, and performance and condition assessments related to water and wastewater networks
- An understanding of Environmental, WHS, and Quality regulatory frameworks
- Strong analytical and computer-literacy skills
- Strong technical communication skills and the ability to adapt communication to a varying audience
