Defence is looking for highly passionate, enthusiastic and motivated individuals, to fill a variety of technical roles.
As an APS 4 Technical Officer, your key duties may include:
- Under limited guidance, undertake moderately complex technical tasks and activities. The tasks will involve the appropriate application of established principles in order to maintain professional technical standards.
- Accountable for organising workflow and making decisions within defined parameters.
- Contribute to high performing teams, supporting productive relationships with stakeholders and clients.
- Conduct the maintenance of Defence materiel and perform technical activities within land, maritime, aviation or explosive ordnance fields.

About our Team
We are recruiting in an exciting time for Defence across a range of positions between three Groups:
- Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group (CASG): CASG exists to meet the Australian Defence Force’s (ADF) military equipment and supply requirements, identified by Defence and approved by Government. CASG manages a multi-billion dollar portfolio of complex, high-profile acquisitions and sustainment activities supporting armed forces.
- Guided Weapons and Explosive Ordnance Group (GWEO): GWEO’s mission is to deliver an Enterprise with a focus on domestic manufacture, long-range strike and uplifting our war stocks enabling the Australian Defence Force, in competition and conflict.
- Naval Shipbuilding and Sustainment Group (NSSG): NSSG is responsible for delivering and sustaining Australia’s naval capability – the ships and submarines – for Australia to be able to fight and win at sea.
