The Maxwell Underground Mine, owned by Malabar Resources Ltd has commenced operations at their Hunter Valley site, with production projected of up to 8 million tonnes of coal per annum. With a long life, the underground mine targets high quality coal, with the majority being metallurgical coal.

ABOUT THE ROLE
We currently have a number of opportunities for individuals looking to kick start their careers in the underground coal mining industry. We are seeking enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join our team as New to Industry Operators. This is a fantastic opportunity for those New to the industry to gain hands-on experience and develop valuable skills in a dynamic and challenging environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain mining equipment under supervision
- Develop skills and competency to be able to work independently
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance of equipment
- Participate in training programs to learn about mining operations and equipment
- Collaborate with team members to achieve production goals
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members
ABOUT YOU
To be successful in this role you will have:
- A strong work ethic and willingness to learn
- The ability to work shift work in a physically demanding environment
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- A commitment to safety and environmental regulations
- Be willing, and able, to undertake an Order 43 Medical, including drug and alcohol.
- A tertiary/trade qualification, in any specialisation, would be advantageous.
- Proficiency in the operation of plant or mobile equipment would be advantageous
