Fitzroy Mining Operations is a new force in the Queensland metallurgical coal mining industry with a portfolio of existing operations and a pipeline of growth projects.  In our short history, we have successfully reinvigorated operations at Carborough Downs underground mine, breathed new life into the Broadlea open cut and our next exciting venture is the Greenfields underground longwall and bord and pillar - Ironbark No.1 project, the newest longwall mine in Australia.

About the roles

Underground Coal Mine Electricians wanted!

We currently have an exciting and rewarding opportunities for Experienced Underground Electricians for Fitzroy's Carborough Downs and Ironbark Minesites. You will be working in either Outbye, Bord and Pillar or  Longwall. 

Key Responsibilities of the role will include:

• Create a safe and healthy work environment on the job and manage risks to an acceptable level;
• Ensure that all allocated electrical maintenance activities are carried out in compliance with Queensland Coal Mining legislation and requirements;
• Ensure that all preventive and statutory inspections are completed within the scheduled weekly timeframe, and requests for further maintenance work are enacted;
• Carry out breakdown repairs to electrical equipment as required;
• Assist in the maintenance planning process by scoping jobs and providing quantity estimates for labour, parts and materials; 
• Provide electrical knowledge, personal drive and ability to maintain standards that support the safe and efficient production of coal;

Got what it takes?

To be successful in this position we are looking for someone who is passionate about mining coal and the ideal candidate will hold:

• Significant previous experience working in Underground Coal operations; 
• Relevant Trade Qualification and Tickets;
• Standard 11 - surface and underground;
• Qld Electrical License or willing to obtain;
• EEHA Certification or willing to obtain;
• Demonstrated history of working safely;
• Commitment to the achievement of business goals and outcomes;
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; 
• Ability to work well within a team.
