At Healthscope we realise how hard you've studied to get to this point. Taking the next step in your career is an important milestone. With us you can kick start your employment as an early career nurse or midwife through our comprehensive and individually tailored program. With full time or part time options available (minimum 0.8 FTE), our 12-month program is coupled with an additional Consolidation Year to further support your transition to practice and develop your clinical skills and knowledge.

Newcastle Private Hospital is a 189 bed, acute, Private Hospital facility co-located on the John Hunter Campus at Rankin Park. The hospital has 11 theatres including a hybrid theatre and a 15 bed Intensive Care Unit. It also has a cardiac suite including a cardiac catheter laboratory and a 16 bed Coronary Care Unit. A private maternity suite including 6 birthing suites and a special care baby nursery is available for families in the Newcastle region.

We are also an integrated, multidisciplinary cancer service, offering chemotherapy and immunotherapies for both inpatients and outpatients in our 9 chair infusion centre and dedicated 10 bed oncology ward.

Registered Nursesat Healthscope perform a wide range of activities in pursuit of delivering a high quality patient experience. Every day is different and may include assessing patients, administering medications, providing wound care and educating patients and their families about health conditions. You will need to collaborate with other healthcare professionals, advocate for your patients and provide support to patients and their families. You will have the opportunity to continually develop, improve and promote best evidence-based practice.
