About CatholicCare NT and the Program
The Crerar Road accommodation site provides predominately an indigenous accommodation service, comprising of a 190-bed shared hostel accommodation over two adjacent properties. The Crerar Road accommodation site provides a home away from home experience to our participants who come to town for medical appointments, shopping, catch up with family or sporting events. In addition to this we provide renal, short stay hostel and Homeless accommodation.
CatholicCare NT operates the Crerar Road Accommodation site seven days, twenty-four hours. Meals are included.
About the role
The Night Caretaker is responsible for all site operations overnight, focusing on participant safety and security, and unexpected maintenance issues.
The Night Caretaker will work 5pm until 11pm, on call 11pm to 5am and work 5am until 8am.
The Full-time role is Sunday to Thursday (finishing Friday morning) each week.
The casual role is as per a fortnightly roster.
What we are looking for
- High level of work health and safety practices
- Experience in caretaker role
- Use initiative, common sense and be self-motivated when working on your own
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills including
- Demonstrated cultural competency, particularly in working with Indigenous people
- Experienced conflict resolution skills
- Demonstrated cultural competency, particularly in working with Indigenous men.
