Job description

Humpty Doo Barramundi is Australia's biggest Barramundi farm. This 100% family owned and operated farm if located halfway between Darwin and Kakadu National Park and prides itself on growing a premium saltwater Barramundi for Australia's retail and food service.

Our mission is to responsibly produce beautiful Australian Barramundi while demonstrating our genuine care for and commitment to our people, environment and partners.

Humpty Doo Barramundi is seeking a suitable candidates to fill the role of Night Watch Care and Maintenance to provide overnight security of the farm premises. This will also include fish safety. Previous experience in a Night Watch role is preferred, however training will be supplied to someone who displays strong self-motivation and work ethic. This is a full time night shift position. 

Tasks and Responsibilities :

  • Monitor farm premises for authorized entry of personnel and visitors
  • Make physical security rounds throughout the designated farm areas following a predetermined schedule
  • Responsibility to report and attend to any incident or situation that may affect the safety of fish stock
  • Responsibility to immediately notify the farm manager, business directors or law enforcement of any trespass, vandalism, theft or damage that may occur
  • Preparing work areas and equipment for incoming day shift
  • Locking down and open up premises.
  • Monitoring alarms & surveillance systems
  • Submittal of all necessary paperwork for night duty and nursery check lists.
  • Maintain general housekeeping

Job Requirements: 

  • Ability to work independently and without direction
  • Follow SOP's and instructions 
  • Ability to report to work consistently, on time and work a flexible schedule, including weekends
  • Work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner
  • Perform general labour duties as needed to support in coming dayshift teams
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to problem solve
  • Current Drivers license
  • Forklift license
  • Own reliable transport
  • First Aid or ability to obtain

Desirable Criteria:

  • Farming industry experience
  • Fish or animal husbandry experience
  • Surveillance experience
  • Basic mechanical skills
