What you'll be doing

Provide contemporary comprehensive Specialist General Medicine services at the primary facility and other facilities where applicable for optimal patient outcomes delivering a healthy community through quality care . Provide clinical leadership, participate in quality improvement activities and provide training and education to clinicians across multiple disciplines to achieve quality education and safe clinical practice.

Where you'll be working

 is a local community hospital established in 1903 providing a range of services including: Emergency Department, Operating Suite, Day Surgery, Medical and Surgical Inpatient Units, a Women’s Ambulatory Care Unit comprising Birth Centre, Antenatal Clinic and Gynaecology Clinic, and a well-appointed rehabilitation unit.  We work closely with hospitals in Northern NSW and tertiary hospitals in Southern Queensland to support the healthcare needs of our community.

All NSW Health workers are required to have completed a primary course of a COVID-19 vaccine which has been approved or recognised by the Therapeutics Goods Administration (TGA). New applicants must have completed the vaccination course prior to commencement with NSW Health, or provide an approved medical contraindication certificate certifying the worker cannot have any approved COVID-19 vaccines available in NSW.

Selection Criteria

  1. Eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia as a Specialist General Physician and/or overseas trained specialist pathways.
  2. Demonstrated recent clinical experience in General Medicine at the role delineation of the service.
  3. Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and provide leadership of a team.
  4. Demonstrated effective clinical communication through the use of information technology and written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
  5. Demonstrated commitment to teaching, continuing education, research and quality improvement.
  6. Availability to participate in an on-call roster and to respond on site within a reasonable time.
