We are seeking a motivated and skilled Wind Service Technician to join a dynamic team responsible for the safe operation and maintenance of equipment at leading wind farms across North Brown/Bluff, SA (and other VIC or SA sites). This is the chance to work client side, we invite individuals who are passionate about renewable energy and ready to contribute their expertise to this exciting field.Key Responsibilities:As the Wind Service Technician, you will be tasked with a range of responsibilities that are crucial to the success of wind farm operations. Your duties will include: Preparing and performing electrical isolations, energisations, and switching operations. Creating essential works management documents, such as PTW, LOTO, and isolation procedures. Providing on-site supervision for electrical contractors engaged in HV/complex electrical works. Collaborating with network service providers to coordinate above-the-line switching operations. Conducting routine and breakdown maintenance, servicing, inspection, and monitoring of assets. Maintaining comprehensive work records and reports, including input into SAP. Ensuring strict adherence to Health, Safety, and Environment systems, in line with the organization's HSE policies and standards. Receiving and progressing Access Authorities as required, including serving as the Recipient In Charge (RIC) when necessary. Supervising service providers and contractors to guarantee work is carried out to high standards and in a safe manner. Providing on-the-job training and mentoring to junior technicians to enhance their skill levels and safety standards. Demonstrating company values by consistently acting in the best interests of the company, contributing to its overall success, and fostering a collaborative spirit throughout the business. Qualifications, Key Skills, and Experience Required:To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and attributes: Electrical or Mechanical trade qualification, along with experience as a wind turbine Service Technician. High voltage training certification (preferred for Non-mechanical applicants to this role). Proven experience with Permit-to-Work, LOTO, and switching procedure generation and execution. Expertise in HV/LV, hydraulics, and mechanical systems within residential, commercial, and/or industrial settings. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to facilitate successful interactions at all levels, both internally and externally. A solid understanding of the use, operation, and maintenance of a wind farm to ensure cost-effective, efficient, reliable, and safe operation. Self-motivated with excellent time management skills and a strong work ethic. Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team. Valid Victorian or South Australian Driver’s licence, depending on the asset location. Other relevant qualifications, such as GWO training, working at heights, safety, manual handling, HV/LV rescue, and first aid, are advantageous.
