Job description

Allity is now part of the Bolton Clarke Group, one of Australia’s largest independent, not-for-profit providers of home care, retirement living and residential aged care, operating nationally and internationally.  Bolton Clarke Residential group now has 88 Aged Care Homes across QLD, NSW, VIC, SA & WA, with the inclusion of the Allity, McKenzie & Acacia Living Group.

Our Bayside Aged Care located in Bonnells Bay, is seeking an experienced and passionate Clinical Nurse Lead. You must have minimum three years aged care experience.

Shift Patterns:

Shifts will be 10am - 6pm Thursday to Monday, this is negotiable, but weekends have to be covered.

As the Clinical Nurse Leader, you will be responsible for ensuring a consistently high quality of care is provided to our residents, to facilitate and support their continued enjoyment of life within their level of capability.   Integral to this is proactive management of resident care, commitment to quality assurance, continuous improvement and high standards of work ethics, whilst ensuring compliance to Allity guidelines and policies.

The role requires strong relationships to be maintained with residents and their families and friends, care staff, leisure and lifestyle coordinators and external health & allied professionals.

Your duties will include, but not limited to:

  • Delivering a high quality of care to each resident in the home, respecting their privacy and dignity while at all times displaying quality customer focus.
  • Develops, monitors and implements the nursing care plan as designed for each resident by the health care team and the resident / representative, making changes based on clinical assessment and liaising with resident/family regarding care requirements.
  • Assist in the assessment, planning and evaluation of care for residents with complex needs
  • Performs comprehensive assessments and develop short and longer term treatment plans in line with diagnostic findings
  • Leads case conference approaches ensuring all relevant input is evaluated and considered in planning and providing person centred care
  • Drives strong clinical governance across the organisation and acts as an advocate for residents and their families in influencing clinical policy
  • Participates in clinical research and evaluation initiatives to promote clinical
  • Provide direct and indirect supervision for registered nurses, enrolled nurses and care staff, including acting as a point of contact for escalation of challenges
  • Co-ordinating the day to day management of the Home in the absence of the General Manager and Care Manager (as requested).

The successful candidate must demonstrate the following:

  • Qualifications Required:
  • Registered Nurse
  • 3yrs Post Basic or Post Graduate experience
  • Recent experience in Aged Care at a senior level
  • Evidence of participation in Education and Clinical skills up-dates essential
  • Sound leadership capability, ability to build strong working relationships
  • Highly organised, ability prioritise and multi task
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism at all times
  • Excellent communication skills, ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff
  • Strong computer skills including MS Office suite
  • Solution focussed – excellent problem-solving skills.
