Flinders Medical Centre is looking for an IBD Nurse Consultant to join their Gastroenterology Team!
As the Inflammatory Bowel Disease Nurse Consultant, you will provide clinical nursing expertise and support for patients/clients affected by inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). Specifically, the Inflammatory Bowel Disease Nurse Consultant will be the first point of contact for this patient group, their family members, General Practitioners, and external gastroenterologists.
About the Role:
Your responsibilities may involve:
- Facilitating the co-ordination of patient care between Primary Care Physicians and Hospital based Specialists.
- Earlier treatment of symptoms to prevent inpatient admissions and outpatient appointments.
- Providing a comprehensive and coordinated ongoing treatment for patients.
Essential Requirements:
- Registered or eligible for registration by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and hold a current practicing certificate.
- Demonstrated effective leadership skills, communication, problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation.
- Demonstrated ability to foster a workplace that develops staff potential.
- Proven ability for flexibility, innovation, and creativity.
