Are you a natural leader with a passion for healthcare? We’re on the hunt for a dynamic, key team player to spearhead our dedicated group of Practice Nurses. You'll collaborate closely with our General Practitioners and administrative staff, ensuring the highest standards of patient care and clinical excellence.
Your Role:
As our Nurse Manager, you will blend hands-on clinical duties with vital management and leadership responsibilities. Your mission? To inspire and support our team, streamline our processes, and enhance patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership: Guide and manage a team of Practice Nurses, overseeing all clinical portfolios including:
- Treatment Room | Clinic
- Enhanced Primary Care Plans
- Infection Prevention and Control
- Supply Management & Vaccine Clinics
- Cold Chain Coordination
- Accreditation
- Resource Management: Oversee nursing rosters and workloads to ensure efficient scheduling.
- Patient Triage: Support the Reception/Administrative team in prioritising appointments and ensuring effective triaging.
- Clinic Coordination: Organise special clinics for immunisation programs and other healthcare initiatives.
- Reporting: Provide detailed reports on nursing activities to the General Manager.
- Patient Advocacy: Manage patient care services and act as an advocate for their needs.
- Team Meetings: Conduct regular nursing team meetings and attend leadership meetings.
- Clinical Duties: Perform essential practice nurse duties such as:
- Utilising GPMPs and Health Assessments to improve patient health outcomes
- Wound management
- Cardiac monitoring, ECG, and Holter
- Collecting pathology samples
- Providing urgent care support as required
- Assisting with treatment room procedures
- Educating patients on health practices
- Professional Development: Coordinate and lead in-house nursing education sessions, and support nurses’ attendance at professional development sessions.
- Performance Reviews: Conduct performance meetings and reviews with the General Manager.
What You Bring:
- Qualifications: AHPRA registered Practice Nurse with experience in a busy General Practice.
- Leadership Skills: Proven management experience and strong leadership abilities.
- Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with Best Practice software (desirable) and knowledge of GPMPs and Health Assessments.
- Organisational Skills: Exceptional time management and organisational abilities.
- Communication: Outstanding communication and customer service skills.
- Personality: A personable approach with a genuine passion for people.
